WHAT MAKES US HUMAN
WHAT MAKES US HUMAN
“Human” is a sensitive portrait of human being today. Based on 2,000 interviews of men and women and on exclusive aerial images shot in about 70 countries will allow you to get a better understanding of the film’s thematics.
HUMAN is a collection of stories about and images of our world, offering an immersion to the core of what it means to be human. Through these stories full of love and happiness, as well as hatred and violence, HUMAN brings us face to face with the Other, making us reflect on our lives.
These stories and everyday experiences of the most unbelievable lives, these poignant encounters share a rare sincerity and underline who we are – our darker side, but also what is most noble in us, and what is universal.
HUMAN is an invitation addressed to the greatest number: an invitation to reflect on the meaning we can find in our lives, our choices, and our deepest convictions.
The questions which HUMAN raises are deeply individual, but may find collective answers in the global movement generated by the films, resulting in the forming of a bond that will bring people together around the powerful values of solidarity, sharing and engagement.
Our Earth is shown at its most sublime through never-before-seen aerial images accompanied by soaring music, resulting in an ode to the beauty of the world, providing a moment to draw breath and for introspection.
HUMAN is a politically engaged work which allows us to embrace the human condition and to reflect on the meaning of our existence.
Filmmaker and artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand spent 3 years collecting real-life emotional stories from more than 2,000 women and men in 60 countries. Those emotions, those tears and smiles, those struggles and those laughs are the ones uniting us all.
What is it that makes us human? Is it that we love, that we fight ? That we laugh ? Cry ? Our curiosity ? The quest for discovery ?
